Under the direction of the Sri Lanka Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources Management, and in partnership with Royal Eijkelkamp Netherlands, Arinma Holdings facilitated the realisation of a groundwater monitoring network in Sri Lanka.

As groundwater becomes scarcer and the population grows, the demand for groundwater increases, and as a result, a large variety of users causes fluctuations in the level, quality, and composition of groundwater. Additionally, in the dry zone, many villagers are affected by chronic kidney disease, caused by very high arsenic and mercury content found in most drinking water samples. As a result of this project, the groundwater monitoring network will be installed consisting of 150 measuring locations that will provide decision-makers with timely, reliable, and accurate data which will enable the monitoring and management of groundwater-related problems.
