The primary objective of the Project is to support poverty alleviation and enhance human development by improving access to safe water and sanitation for underserved populations. This initiative aims to reduce waterborne diseases and minimize the financial and time burdens associated with securing clean water and sanitation.
The specific goals of the Project include:
(a) Providing access to safe drinking water for 969,000 people and improved sanitation for 171,500 individuals across five urban areas and the rural districts of Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura.
(b) Strengthening the institutional capacity of the Government of Sri Lanka to deliver safe water services through targeted reforms and capacity-building initiatives within the water sector.
Arinma’s subsidiary, Ceywater Consultancy, was responsible for Consultancy Services related to the Design and Construction Supervision under Package B.
